Inspirens AUGi

Faster help after a fall — without cameras in the room

A discreet wall-mounted sensor uses on-device AI to detect falls and unusual movement, then alerts the care team while protecting privacy.

How it works

Prevent, respond, learn

  1. Prevent

Detects pre-fall behavior — sitting up at the bed edge, unsteady transfers — and alerts staff before the fall happens.

  2. Respond

If a fall occurs, AUGi identifies floor-level posture and triggers an immediate alert — shortening time on the floor.

  3. Learn

Trend data on sleep and nighttime activity helps nurses refine personalized care plans over weeks and months.

Privacy by design

No video feed. No recognizable images stored.

AUGi is HIPAA-aligned. Families do not access a camera stream — only trained caregivers receive alerts with privacy-preserving renderings.

Care team responding to resident needs

Why fall prevention matters

Emergency departments treat roughly 3 million older adults for fall injuries annually (CDC, 2023). One in five falls causes serious injury such as hip fracture or head trauma (NIA, 2022).

AUGi is one layer inside a broader model — environmental design, therapy, medication review, and human attention. Technology extends a caregiver's senses; a real person still walks through the door.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is AUGi a medical device?
No. AUGi is a safety and care-coordination platform. It alerts trained caregivers faster — it does not diagnose or treat conditions.
Can my family see the AUGi feed?
No. Only authorized caregivers receive alerts with stick-figure renderings and blurred backgrounds — not recognizable video.
What happens if AUGi detects a fall at night?
The on-shift team is alerted immediately. A caregiver responds in person, assesses the resident, contacts nursing, and notifies family per the care plan.
Is AUGi available in every Aegis Living community?
AUGi is rolling out across 39 communities in WA, CA, and NV. Contact your community for current availability.
How much does AUGi cost residents?
AUGi is part of Aegis Living's care infrastructure — not a separate add-on. Your General Manager explains how it fits during your tour.
Can I turn AUGi off whenever I want?
Yes. Written consent is required to activate, and residents can pause monitoring or deactivate at any time without affecting other care.
